Bible Reading

Bible Reading

As Christians, we are called to be ambassadors and representatives of Jesus. The key to representing someone well is by knowing them well. The Bible is one of the most important avenues used to know Jesus. It tells us that Jesus and The Bible are actually one in the same (John 1:14).

So it begs the question, what it the best way to read The Bible?

As a church, The Walk follows the Life Journal plan. It is simple, easy to follow and gets you in the word on a daily bases. Instructions on how the Life Journal and a link to the daily reading plan are found below.

The You Version Bible App is another great resource that offers many different plans.

Our hope is that no matter which option you choose, you get in The Word. Get to know Jesus, he will change your life!

How to Life Journal

You will need a Bible, journal or piece of paper and a pen or pencil.

S | Scripture

Lookup today's reading in your Bible or click on the link above. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly stood out to you, and write it in your journal.

O | Observation

What do you think God is saying to you in this Scripture? Ask the Lord to teach you and reveal His Word. Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your own words, in your journal.

A | Application

Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of new promise or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.

P | Prayer

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight into what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.
