- Series: Foursquare Worldwide Update
San Luis Potosi, Mexico: District Missions Representative David Poissant recently traveled to Mexico with teams from Massachusetts and Alabama to partner with missionary John Mazariegos. The teams ministered in the San Luis Potosi plaza, neighborhood community centers and inner-city housing areas through street evangelism. Many lives were touched as the teams ministered. Roughly 380 individuals committed their lives to following Jesus, relationships were healed and some received deliverance from life long issues.
Middle East: A missionary in a high-security nation recently threw a 4th of July party for Muslims. The event was a great time of community-building. Eighty people came including local musicians who formed an impromptu jazz band and delighted the listeners. Overall those who attended felt welcomed.
Christchurch, New Zealand: Ministry continues to grow at the community center opened by missionaries Ron and Debra Brown in May. At last Sunday's church service 20 people of varying ages filled the room and the first decisions for Christ were made. Needless to say the Browns are thrilled and so grateful to the Lord.
Middle East: A Foursquare worker in a closed Muslim country has been witnessing to a Muslim friend who recently suffered near-fatal stab wounds. The worker visited his friend in the hospital and the individual gave his heart to the Lord from his hospital bed. Convinced that he would die soon, he insisted on being baptized right away. Because he was restricted to the hospital bed, the worker poured a glass of water over him from the hospital sink to symbolically baptize him in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Francophone Africa: Despite limited resources and physical sufferings, Foursquare Senegal in the capital city Dakar is reaching out to many. The church routinely carries provisions (food and water) and the Word of God to two drought-stricken interior areas. Collaboration with other Francophone nations enables Foursquare Senegal to witness to impoverished Muslims in the nation.
Indonesia: July 17 was the 75th birthday of the Foursquare national leader in Indonesia, pastor A. H. Mandey. About 3,500 special guests from all over Indonesia traveled to the Ritz Carlton in Jakarta to honor and celebrate pastor Mandey. The event highlighted the faithfulness and fruitfulness of his continual ministry to the people of Indonesia and to the world. The crowd stayed to nearly midnight expressing their love and admiration.
